I found this while searching for photos of women with wolves. Your manip is so lovely! It reminds me of a part in my novel The Howling Heart about a young Scandinavian woman from the 12th century who comes across an injured wolf in the forest, and brings him back to her home to nurse him back to health. During that time, he falls in love with her, but can't be with her because they're different species. So, Norse gods bless him with the ability to shapeshift into a human. The wolf returns to the woman in his human form, they fall in love, and later have children, which are the descendents of the werewolves (Varulv) in the story.
