oops, hit the "send" button before I was done! I just wanted to add: Alexander II saw what was needed in his time, and responded creatively (and powerfully) to it. In later life he backed off, and was eventually assassinated by radicals who understandably felt betrayed. I still don't know how to feel about the choices he made in his later years...

I wondered which Alexander...then I saw ΠΠ»Π΅ΠΊΡΠ°Π½Π΄ΡΡ II ...which is much more believable than Alexander III, who was much "tougher" looking, even in his youth.
Alexander II was a great man, even if not a "strong" one like his son.
