My illustration for the second chapter of my ME story, Citadel Life [link] . I've had it nearly done for a few days now and I thought I might as well post it and then do the little changes I want later.Here we find my two OCs, Paige and Laiton, when he invites her to the Euphoria Club shortly after she arrives on the Citadel.
This isn't exactly how I describe everything going down in that scene, but I still like it. I actually started out trying for a picture showing off a good bit of the club, which turned out to be a bit overwhelming, so I cropped and stuck to focusing on Paige, Laiton, and their immediate surroundings. Maybe next I'll try for a group pic with most of the main characters all hanging out.

This is good but there just standing around! they need to be doing some thing, at least make one of them talk(open one of there mouths)

I realized that after I posted. In the moment I didn't think about it. Paige does have her mouth open, but I didn't open it very much because I was afraid of making her look weird, like she's slack jawed or gawking. I was also going to have Laiton gesturing with his other arm... I just got tired of working on the pic. After a bit of a rest I might go back and do revisions though.

Very nicely done! I get a feel for the place and the characters. I do stuff like that too in that the pic is not exactly following the scene, but shos the essence of it.

Thank you very much! I think those creases and folds are among my top favourite things about this picture too. That lighting was a pain, but I love the way it came out- really adds to the atmosphere.

I just thought that you might have tried to put maybe a few tables or something... A Turian bartender on te back would look more "clubbish" XD

Like I said in my comment, this started out so much bigger and with a lot more going on. I started out with the dance floor, patrons, and more tables. The holograms on the wall were awesome too. As it is, all of that and most of the holograms got chopped off. It was just too much to handle at once.
Besides that, Laiton would be the bartender... he's just not working at the moment.

The place is almost always jumpin', they're just at one of the corner booths were (convenniently for me) a lot of people won't fit.

And, boy, did it get on my nerves trying to get that lighting to look natural! Having to figure out light direction and shadow from multiple sources, perspective, and atmosphere- I'm just glad it all came together in the end.

Ugh, I personally hate figuring out lighting. I'm only just now experimenting with doing lighting for situations other than just...photoshoots.

I don't mind it so much when I have time to get it worked out, but starting, having to stop for whatever reason, and then come back really messes me up. I dabble with photography every now and then... I've been told I'm very good at framing shots and all that, but I never stick to the medium for very long.

Ahhh. My problem is twofold: 1) I rarely do photography and 2) I get an idea of what I want to do but not enough patience to always stick through and figure out how to get the end result I want. The issue of having to stop for whatever reason DOES put a damper on motivation.

My mother started me on the photography thing because she does the work part-time, with me acting as her assistant when I was younger. I guess I just picked up the talent... but I rarely use it. The only times I do the work now are when I'm handling equipment or editing work for my mother because the technology has progressed too far for her.

The background's pretty slick. The two are quite well drawn, and the attire looks great. Sure I've never been a fan of what Turians wore in ME or ME2 as casual wear but you did real good at drawing it.

Thank you very much. Those clothes nearly made me crazy, but it was worth it in the end. I never really minded the look of turian casual wear myself. Hope the next set of turian clothes I do turns out as well as these did.
