Why this uniform?

After watching the great BBC atomic war movie Threads from 1984 i wanted to have such a uniform.And i`m interested for some reason on the conflict in northern ireland.

All parts are bought mostly cheap on ebay or from other shops.It`s not supposed to be a 100% historically accurate british uniform.The body armour is a Mark 1 Fragmentation Jacket .But i saw pictures of british soldiers in northern ireland with M16A1 rifles.So i used the only „modern“ rifle replica that i own.A crappy and broken M16 replica from Denix.
