"Ben!" Kaze called, voice desperate. "You're hurting Darren! Hurting our little brother! Don't you remember us?!"

Benonic was unfazed. More cubes materialized from thin air and surrounded him, taking aim at Kaze. The Phantom Ruby that encased his right hand pulsed with crimson light. Behind him, Darren yelped as the cubes dug into his body.

Kaze's grip on his Wispon tightened. All his frustration, grief, and anger was turning into a storm within his heart. Their eldest brother, who had gone missing months ago was right here, right in front of him...but as Eggman's brainwashed puppet.

"I'm sorry Ben," He raised his Wispon and assumed a battle stance. "I promise we'll save you...but right now, you need to let Darren go."

Should've brought the Drill Wispon, Kaze! (>o<) anyways here's the sequel to this ! I know the prose isn't exactly the best, but I wanted to be dramatic about it

EDIT: alright I got some sleep. Here's some context: this whole story takes place during Sonic Forces. Everyone is from Mobius in this au, so no magic or royal gifts! Benonic, Kaze, and Darren joined the Resistance and the fight against Eggman's invasion. Benonic went on a simple, solo recon mission, promising his brothers he'd be back before the next morning. Well...he didn't come back. He got kidnapped or smth by Eggman and turned into a living weapon using the Phantom Ruby. He doesn't remember anything from before that. Kaze and Darren juggle doing Resistance stuff and searching for their missing big brother.

This piece is based off the Infinite's 4th(?) fight. Kaze and Darren go challenge him directly in hopes of rescuing him/bringing him back to his senses. As you can see, it doesn't go well
