Mertrolls, being so tiny, can't exert a lot of force. That's why I drew the phone in a LifeProof Nuud case. Maximum screen sensitivity. "But wait," you're thinking, "that case only guarantees itself for an hour of submersion!" Well, smartypants, clear silicon sealant has been added to the seems. Sure, the phone can never come back out of the case, but it will never leak.

Davesprite is in a cage in the same household. He and Eridan are both cared for by a very human, and very stoned, Gamzee Makara. Eridan likes tropical fish flakes. He's not a tropical mertroll, but he feels such exotic delicacies befit someone of his fine breeding. Of course, he doesn't nom them directly from the surface. That would be undignified. He grabs them from the surface with his hands then he noms them. Davesprite is fine with any bird seed. What he really likes, though, is when Gamzee is stoned enough to put gummy worms into his feed tray.

Eridan is very glad to be out of the pet store. They had Meenah in the next bowl over. She kept pressing up against the glass and snarling at him. And at the mertroll on her other side. And at every customer who walked past.

Is it weird that I put this much thought into imaginary pets?
