The plant on the right, produces airborne spores that cause swelling to those that breathe these in. The more time spent in range of these spores the more rapid the expansion becomes, this is used to slow down and to eventual cease movement of prey due to the difficulty to move and maintain of balance.
When Ivy found about what happened in Strange's vault, she wasn't too pleased to hear that Catwoman broke their agreement and has proceed to tracking her down by spread her plants throughout Arkham City to find her. To make it easier Ivy would lure Catwoman into an area, using some of her stolen items as bait, with concealed plants placed within the vicinity. After falling for this, Ivy would then retrieve Catwoman and have her plants take her back to her lair at Gotham Central Park Gardens, to have a little chat.
