Description This deviation will require a little explanation, so gather round, children- it's STORY TIME!

Even before watching Disney's long lost film "The Black Cauldron", I knew the basic premise of the story. I had checked out the second book in the series at the library and really liked it- I'm planing on asking for the rest for my birthday(I would have checked out the first one, but they didn't have it). I even spoiled the ending for myself, so the ending wasn't even a surprise! But I still enjoyed the movie anyway!(I may share my thoughts about the film in the future, but not right now-it would take up waaaaaaay too much space) So, back to before I watched the film, I began to think of a few similarities between the story and Disney Channel's fabulously clever animated series, "Gravity Falls".
Okay, I know-it sounds crazy, but I can explain. While they're not totally alike, they do have SOME things in common with each other. We have a kid who's around 12 years old, on the brink of hitting puberty, (Taran and Dipper Pines) who both have to work crappy jobs(Taran helps tend Dallben's farm, Dipper has to help out around the Mystery Shack). They both have pig characters(Hen Wen and Waddles) a girl around our protagonist's age who sticks by his side, is both sweet and sassy, and who even ends up leading the way at times(Eilonwy and Mabel Pines), and old men(Fflewddur Fflam and Grunkle Stan) who while they can be grouchy and even dishonest/exaggerate the truth at times, they can be a lot of fun and they still care about their loved ones, family or friends. And finally, our characters have to face against beasties, supernatural and mythical beings, and even the undead!(Now you can see the method to my madness!)Thus, "Prydain Falls" was born!

PHEW! Now THAT was a mouthful!
Now, onto the picture! I have a like/dislike relationship with this picture. I'm worried I didn't do my dear sweet princess justiceΒ Β  (I think I may have used the wrong colors for her hair and skin tone, and she looks a little strange in this style-in fact, I was going to draw Taran, but he turned out really bad, so I scrapped it). But maybe it's me just overreacting. Let me know what YOU think!

Whether they want to acknowledge it or not, Princess Eilonwy and "The Black Cauldron" belong to Disney and Lloyd Alexander.
"Gravity Falls" (and its art style) belong to Alex Hirsch and Disney.

(P.S. This picture is kind of a shoutout to my new friend CelmationPrince, AKA Jimmy Gibson. Though I've just recently met you, I think you're a really nice and awesome guy, and I think you have really nice taste in movies and TV. You rock! )

OMG, Sorry for a Long Reply, But Thank You So Very Much for the Shoutout, Great Friend! I do Enjoy "The Black Cauldron" Movie, Even when it's Underrated and Unappreciated, and Fallin' into Obscurity, and It's One of My Favorite Dark-Themed Family Films on my List. Plus "Gravity Falls" is a Great and Enjoyable Show, It's a Shame it's Re-Running on DisneyXD, It's Not Kinda my Cup O' Tea.
I'm Still Workin' on my Webcomic, It Should be Available Soon.

It's OK! I understand that you're a busy guy! You're very welcome, I thought you'd enjoy the pic! And I agree with you, The Black Cauldron's a good movie, it needs more love! And I love everything about Gravity Falls-the witty comedy, the characters, the storyline- I could go on and on! I don't have cable TV, only the internet, so it's hard to catch up on my favorite shows...but thank goodness for new episodes coming this summer! It feels like it's been 84 years!!!

No, I'm afraid not! It was just my own idea. I've never met you before or seen your art, but I'll definitely have to check it out!

Turns out you're right, my friend! I thought you were wrong at first, but I just checked out your gallery a while ago, and I found your Eilonwy/Wendy edits- turns out this was all purely coincidental! I didn't find your pictures or know who you were until you commented! What I'm really just trying to say is great minds think alike!
