Zeandre Melvin, a son from a noble family, is a young man with the ability to combine two different skills; elemental and manipulative magic. Passed on by his father, Zeandre is able not to only manipulate water, but also manipulate the flow of blood in any living things. Even though bloodbending is pretty rare, Zeandre does not think of it as anything really fancy, or terrific, or whatever. Due to his father’s infamous actions, he decides to not use his bloodbending just like that, unless he really needs to. Aside from how he despises his father’s behavior, Zeandre has numerous consequences when he overuses his bloodbending; in which this includes the excessive pressure to his whole body, both inside and outside. One of the worst things had happened to him 7 years ago, where Zeandre lost a limb from overusing his powers; and his left arm had to be amputated. As a result, his arm is now replaced by a wooden prosthetic his mother had made herself from her own elemental magic spells. Since Zeandre is able to bloodbend, this means that his waterbending basics are pretty admirable.

Drawbacks of his ability to bloodbend include threats to his physical health; this means that Zeandre might not only lose a limb due to overusing his powers, but he may also go blind. This is caused by the disproportionate pressure on his eyes, especially. The darker and deeper the red color on his eyes, the more pressure and more chances of him hurting himself. Usually, after an extreme use of bloodbending, Zeandre may struggle to actually keep his eyes open and for the sake of preserving his sight, he wraps a roll of bandage around his head to cover his eyes from getting further irritation.
