I really like Leo Convoy, even if it is nearly impossible to pose his toy w/o it falling over, lol

Thanks for a great fan art of him that does him more justice. ^^

lol i wish i had got that new classics redesign of Inferno, they discounted him in the shop to £10 so i'm hoping he'll still be there
i like the Revenge of the Fallen Depthcharge but £8 for a TINY figure is waaaayyyy to crazy.

well i was trying to draw Sideswip last night and his head took soooo long i gave up once i finished it lol

Yeah, I missed out on Inferno as well. I'm assuming they'll redeco him eventually as either Hot Spot/Zone or Grapple, or at the very least, maybe another reissue of Inferno, but possibly in the G2 Colors. I did get the Leo Prime toy, which made me wanna draw this one.

And I do gotta agree with you about the Movie Scouts. I mean, they look neat and all, but money's tight... And I just can't bring myself to spend $8 here for a Scout either.

OH MAN you have a LeoPrime... you rock a mate finally sent me a G1 Warpath and Cosmos.
I'm joansing for that Inferno lol

as for Hotspot, i have a soft spot for him, i'd love to do animated Protectobots

in my store they have two RevengeoftheFallen Primes, the one thats the same size as starscream for £23 and the one the size of tank Megatron for £30, it makes sense to save up the extra £7 and buy the bigger one.... fucking crazy prices

ave you seen Ejector the Toaster Decepticon

MachSabre In reply to TheBoo [2009-06-11 21:59:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I've seen him. While I'm cutting back on a lot of my TF buying these days, of course Ejector will be an exception.

I kinda always saw Prime's team as essentially the TF:A Protectobots. We got a firetruck, a cop car, police cycle and an ambulance. The only difference is the helicopter was swapped out for a SWAT vehicle. Funny thing about The Leo Prime drawing here is it started off being an Animated version of him... And just became a typical drawing I usually do.

lol i loved some of the posts i read about him "He's so awesome, i bet he burns your toast delibertly" haha i love the idea of decepticons delibertly burning your toast to give you a bad day.
i'm cutting back to, i'm much more picky. okay i bought every main animated action figure i could, but that was my main TF comic gig so i have a special love for TFA lol
i still want a movie Ironhide but i refuse to pay the massive prices they want.

i agree, but they didnt combine at the end of every episode and battle a big fuck off decepticon power-rangers style lol.

haha often a piccy of mine will start off normal and then i get tired and it turns animated

The funny thing about 90% of the movie toys is that I already have most of the toys from the first time around. I got the Blue Offroad Ironhide toy they released (and as that was a final gift from my mom, I'll always hold it near and dear) but I just can't bring myself to buy the same damn toy again, even if it does have a spiffier gun.

I understand the TFA love. It's like me and my internship on Beast Machines. It was my first "pro-work" so I hold a warm place in my heart for it always, even though I'll be the first to admit it had it's flaws.

Having said that, I understand that there's still talks to continue the story of TF:A through comic form. Perhaps you can get in on that action?

aww at least that figure has huge sentimental value to you then

yeah i saw the repaint with the bigger gun in the store, but he was £23 which is waaayyyy to much

well i never did an internship on Beast Machines but i still love it, sure, the Maximals ran away too much and it was almost always nighttime haha, but i loved Botanica and the more spiritual feel to the serise.
If i was doing a BM comic, i would start with the final episode, and when Primal and Optimal Megatron fell into the core everything would freeze and we would discover that was the last of 60034 simulations Megatron carried out to see what would happen if he tried to battle Primal lol, then i'd bring in Battle Unicorn and bring back Dinobot and Rhinox through some epic timewar

IS THERE, well no ones told me other than you, i kicked off alot of fuss that TFA should continue in comic form and Chris at IDW said he wasnt that interested...crazy

Funny enough, I was just thinking about Lio yesterday. I want his figure badly.

MachSabre In reply to JZLobo [2009-06-10 03:01:28 +0000 UTC]

I always had a fondness for him. I got his figure years ago, when we all still had no clue what the BWII storyline was and we all thought he was Optimus Prime himself. (Back in 1998 or something. Beast Wars hadn't even hit Transmetal 2s yet.) I'll be bluntly honest, especially in comparison to other Convoy/Prime toys... His toy kinda blows. It looks neat, but beyond visuals, his chest piece doesn't lock down that well, his gimmicks and kibble (what there is of it) get in the way too often and his joints are too stiff in all the wrong places that results in the afore mentioned chest piece popping off too often.

Still though, I do like his character, and I'm tempted to open up commissions to buy his Robot Masters toy.

leo prime and Optimus primal are actually two different leaders in two different series least thats what i thought

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MachSabre In reply to Zen904 [2009-06-10 01:22:03 +0000 UTC]

Yep. Leo Prime/Lioconvoy was the leader of the Maximal group in Japan's Beast Wars II series. Where as Optimus Primal was just the captain of the Axalon in our Beast Wars series. There was another one named Big Convoy (No english coined name) which was the commander in the BWII follow up series Beast Wars Neo. And they all worked in the same continuity.

Certainly better looking than an ape. I guess the producers of "Beast Wars" wanted to break that lion/leader paradigm.
