This file is already in .icns format for easy install. All you have to do is go to Applications > (right click) Google Chrome > Choose "See Package Content" > enter the contents folder > go to resources folder > rename app.icns = app_backup.icns > copy this file into the folder and rename it app.icns > restart your mac and VIOLA!!!

Hey, this is my favorite Yosemite Chrome icon! The only issue is the icon is slightly larger than stock Yosemite icons (such as Safari). In other words, the circle diameter is slightly too long. Any chance for one last update?

I had some trouble with iCloud drive and all the updates got deleted. So I literally lost the original file for this. I can try and recreate it. Thanks for the feedback.
