That is one of the things that bugged me about Avatar (and a lot of other things), the Na'vi show no kind of reverence to the big giant thing in the sky. I mean, on Earth we only had the moon, and we still worshiped it.

A gas giant which looks like Jupiter, and two star formed objects which seem like cometes or some, but are in reality two basestars of the cylons...

Beautiful! An earth like moon about a gas giant has been one of my favorite daydreams for somtime and this is a magnificent depiction.
Many of the gas giant moons in our solar system are tidelocked. That means there is a point on the moon's surface where the gas giant would always occupy the sky's zenith. Planetary scientists often call this point 0 degrees longitude on the moon's equator.
I imagine civilizations inhabiting such tidelocked moons would regard this locale a holy place.
