The best one canon do..Canons MT-24EX twin macro flash with 2 x gary fong pop up puffer diffusers..i paid 500£ but you can get it for 3 or 400£ probably

it makes the lighting look softer,less harsh.canon made it with out diffusing it right.

your want canon 450 which is the updated one to the 400d...canon 60 or 100mm macro lens...if u can afford it canon mt-24ex macro flash and mpe-65..lol.the 100mm macro lens will do u fine for now tho
