The Clown Prince of Crime had a sick sense of humor and a penchant for chaos. He had challenged Batman many times, but always escaped or survived.

One night, the Joker had a new plan. He had planted bombs all over the city, rigged to explode at midnight. He had also kidnapped Commissioner Gordon and his daughter Barbara, and left clues for Batman to find them. Batman followed the trail, hoping to save his friends and stop the Joker.

He arrived at an abandoned warehouse, where he saw Gordon and Barbara tied to chairs, with wires attached to their heads. The Joker was standing nearby, holding a remote control. He greeted Batman with a maniacal laugh and said, "Welcome to the party, Batsy! I have a surprise for you. You see, these wires are connected to a device that can alter the brain chemistry of anyone. I call it the Jokerizer. It can make anyone laugh, cry, or go insane. And guess what? I've already tested it on your dear friends here. They are now my loyal followers. The Joker stabbed the syringe into Batman's neck, and injected the liquid. Batman felt a surge of pain, followed by a wave of confusion. He saw the Joker's face, twisted into a grin. He heard the Joker's voice, saying, "Welcome to the madness, Batsy. Welcome to the fun. Welcome to the dark side."
