Rebirth of the legend. Class 140 (E499.0) locomotive restored back to its former glory. For more than a year, group of railfans worked on restoring this locomotive. This is what it looked like , before the restoration works on it begun. The locomotive was produced in year 1957. On this special occasion, it was decorated with a banner commemorating the 65th anniversary of electrification of the railway between Spišská Nová Ves and Žilina.

Locomotive is standing in the premises of the former locomotive depot, next to the disused refueling tank. Two decades ago, this place together with the whole train station was very lively. Electric locomotives used as pushers were parking here, the diesel locos were shunting the freight wagons coming from the various industrial rail spurs in the town, there was a mail train being unloaded, and so on. All of this commotion have since then died out. This historic photo from the year 1998 shows a scene that is never going to repeat again.
