Yeah, I kinda died on DA. Nothing I draw these days seems DA worthy, so I never bother. But then PMD-E closed down and PMD-U rose from its ashes and it was way too tempting not to join in on shenanigans.

... and the group operates on good ole Deviantart, which means I actually have to post things here - NUUU. Publicity. Such sad.

Anyway, once again going to try and probably fail to stay involved with a DA roleplay group. Prince is making a return, and I've tweaked him around a bit (particularly his backstory) to make him a wee bit different but still very much the same. Decided to start off with just Prince for now, and maybe eventually add in a new member or two.

Appearance: Small, grey and fluffy, like your ordinary minccino. Notably, he has blue eyes, dark and thick expressive eyebrows, and somewhat puffy cheeks.

Personality:

Prince is a minccino who typically likes to get what he wants – unfortunately, things rarely seem to turn out in his favour. Some pokemon might find him intimidating because of his aloof nature, but pokemon who are willing to get to know him may unravel his sensitive side. He tends to complain a lot, because that’s usually the first thing he can think of when it comes to engaging in conversation; his complaining can be amusing to some, whilst annoying to others.

Overall, Prince just wants to find acceptance, belonging, and a chance to prove himself worthy of others’ attention. He gets frustrated and irritated when things don’t work out (which they often don’t) and tends to think of himself as a failure, but has never considered “giving up” as a viable option. On a good or accomplished day, Prince can actually be fairly cheerful and friendly, which is a stark transition from his otherwise “grumpy” personality, and may come as a surprise to others who think they know him. On the occasion that he does start to forge relationships with others, he will slowly open himself up to them – however, one must be patient if they choose to pursue him.

Cute Charm – When Prince purposefully tries to attract another pokemon, he usually ends up coming off as creepy or terrifying instead. However, if another pokemon comes up close to Prince (whether in battle or not), it’s quite possible for that pokemon to become infatuated with him – however, the ability only works when Prince isn’t actually trying to activate it.

- Tail Slap: In Prince’s home tribe, it’s important that every minccino learns how to use tail slap when they’re still young, regardless of their future duties to the tribe. Prince, like his brother, trained to be a warrior, and as such, has learned to perfect the brute strength of his tail slap. It has since become his most powerful offensive move.

- Swift: Swift was the second move Prince learned to perfect under the warrior training in his tribe, which is usually the first special attack move that is typically taught. Prince is more likely to depend on this move in situations where he is better off attacking at a distance, rather than up front.

When he was still young, his mother saw the potential and helped him shape his singing voice – not only to appeal to others, but also for strategic use in battle. He is capable of singing melodies of different varieties, with equally different results – he can sing lullabies to put pokemon to sleep, for example, but he can also screech ear-shattering melodies to buy time with his opponents in battle.

- Thunderbolt: Prince and his brother were fighting during a thunderstorm when the two of them realised an ability to control electricity. Their mother informed them later that their grandfather (and her father) is a raichu, which is a family secret kept from the rest of the tribe. Both Prince and his brother are able to control electricity to an extent, and for Prince, it is easier when there is storm or an electrical source nearby (for example, an electric type pokemon). Thunderbolt isn’t Prince’s most reliable move, but if he can harness the electricity for it, it can oftentimes be as strong as a well-trained pikachu’s.

Princeton (Prince), along with his twin brother Kingston (King), was born in a minccino tribe to the tribe’s current ruler, Jasmine the cinccino. Under this kind of lineage, a young minccino is typically expected to become the ruler of the tribe after their mother or father retires from the position. Within multiple children, the minccino who proves his or herself the “worthiest” throughout childhood will become the rightful heir. Between the twin brothers, King and Prince… well, this entitlement was passed onto King.

Even from birth, King seemed to surpass his twin in just about everything. King was the first to hatch, and since then, he has always been a step ahead of his brother. No matter what the two of them did – strength training, agility, stamina – King always came out on top, leaving Prince to feel like a mere shadow in his footsteps.

The one thing that Prince had – that wasn’t just an echo of his brother – was an emotionally close relationship with his mother. Although their mother equally loved King and was always proud of his achievements, she enjoyed Prince’s company and was often there to give him extra reassurance. Even though Prince felt she was only doing it because she felt sorry for him, he had a tight bond with his mother and would often get quite jealous when she gave this kind of attention to King. One thing that Prince inherited from his mother was her singing voice, which his mother constantly told him was a beautiful talent, even though Prince felt it was embarrassing and sissy. Despite this, it was one thing he could do that King couldn’t, so he enjoyed the singing lessons he received from his mother and relished the time he could spend with her.

Later on, when the twins grow into their teenage years and started training with the other tribal warriors, King began to start teasing Prince, especially for being a “momma’s boy” and his sissy complaining. It was during these years that Prince started to abhor King, and King equally started enjoying tormenting his brother. King would often brag about being better at everything, which left Prince extremely jealous and irritable. One day, Prince challenged King to “prove” that he was stronger than he was, and the two of them organised a fight later that evening during a thunderstorm. This gave both of them plenty of experience in a fight where neither held back the ferocity of the moves they learned in training – and it was at the height of each of their power when they both realised their ability to use thunderbolt (this was later explained by their mother, after revealing the family secret that their blood-related grandfather was a raichu). In the end, Prince lost the battle and failed to prove himself to his twin brother – an evening that would leave him bitter for possibly the rest of his life.

Finally, upon achieving young adult status, King was chosen as the heir to rule over their burrow – and rightfully accepted the position to allow his mother to retire. Prince was so shaken up by shame and failure that he couldn’t bear to keep living in the burrow under King’s leadership. To avoid seeing his mother cry, or stirring up anymore tension between himself and King, Prince left one morning without notifying anyone. He had no idea where he was going or what he planned to do – all he knew was that he wanted to make something of himself without having to live in his brother’s shadow. It was on that day that he made a promise to himself not to return back home until he had done something to prove his worth, and earn the same kind of respect and honour from his tribe that had been earned by King.

- He’s extremely hygienic by nature. Unlike other minccino though, he hates touching things that are really dirty and can be fairly squeamish around dirt, germs and blood. He always keeps himself looking clean and nice, and upon getting dirty, he will bathe himself as soon as he can.

- He has trouble making friends or forming close relationships of any kind – but that never stops him from trying occasionally.

- He has a tendency to be extremely blunt, usually saying exactly what’s on his mind. Sometimes it might not particularly be what someone wants to hear. His verbal bluntness tends to stir up arguments from time to time – and usually he doesn’t realise his mistake until he’s already spoken.

- Even though he complains a lot, his views on the world aren’t completely pessimistic. A lot of times, he tries to think of the positives to cheer himself up, but the negatives typically outweigh them most of the time (in his mind).

- One thing he will not talk about his is family, or “past life”. He is still not on very good terms with his brother, King, and prefers to repress his jealous feelings of sibling rivalry. However, Prince will sometimes boast that he comes from royal blood, although most pokemon don’t take it seriously.

- Despite what others tend to think, Prince enjoys company and tends to get very hungry for it. He purposefully likes to surround himself with others because it gives him a sense of belonging. When he gets upset though, he prefers to be alone – and in general, he does enjoy some of his alone times to an extent.

- He has extremely addictive qualities, and is known to drink an excess of alcoholic berry juice when saddened or depressed.

- He is easily irritable but not always to the point of rage, unless in the event that his irritability continues to be provoked. In the event that he does get angry, he tends to take his anger out on inanimate objects – tail slapping trees, yelling at rocks, etc.

- He’s a bit sensitive to pain, even if he doesn’t like to admit it. He will often complain about small injuries though, even in the midst of battle.

- In the event that someone is attracted to Prince via his Cute Charm, he will sometimes use it to his advantage to get things that he wants. That being said, he is actually uncomfortable with the idea of other pokemon expressing romantic attraction toward him and will shove them out of his face the moment they get too up close and personal.
