Actually, if you research kirin a little bit, you'll see that kirin have a ton of different descriptions. This is awesome! I especially like the stripey effect on the hind end. Is this needle felted?

Yes but the traditional depiction of them are a ton different than the modern ones LOL

IT'S SO CUTE. What's it made of though? It looks so furryyy, as though it's compressed wool or something (I no naught about craft-y things so yea D.

THANKS LOL yeah it is actually compressed wool, the process of doing this is called "needle felting" where you pretty much shape wool into felt by poking it with this barbed needle a zillion times.
