I love the use of cross-hatching, especially where the lines form the nose. It gives it incredible depth! I'm going to take note of that in future as I now know why my tutor was nagging me about it lol.

I will happily give you any advice on cross hatching. The secret is to let the lines describe the form and not ever be just horizontal or vertical, keep to diagonals with lines crossing them only slightly different.
