Something I've been kicking around in my head for over a year, but finally had time to work out last month.
Building from the archetype of the witch from the Hansel & Gretel fairytale, rather than just eating wayward travelers she renders their body and souls to create ingredients for the gingerbread golem. These haunted helper(s) can be summoned to protect her property from mobs of angry villagers, magical rivals, and make a decent scarecrow for the garden...but oddly enough are terrible assistants in the kitchen when it might really count.
