yah, but those details still come through. A spot, even blurred without the correct details would look wrong to us.

"Depth of Field", where the camera "defocuses" the background. I think DAZ3D uses it but I use Cinema4D - It's a nice effect , isn't it? But it eats processor power!

Both Daz Studio and Poser can render using DOF. It's not so much that the camera "defocuses" the background, but more that it focuses on a particular subject this making the less sharp. I can't say I've ever seen it chew up processing power in Daz but in some cases it's simpler and easier to replicate the effect in photoshop when you layer the various elements of your piece to create the final image.
