Description
Decided to make a picture of a fancy panda Elk stumpled upon long ago. The picture ended up taking more time than expected and much more violet/pinkish.I need to make something that is not.... staged in Darnassus. Also, I need to learn more about colors, render and texturing in general.
How would you paint it to catch the mood of Darnassus without making it... super gay? Links to super awesome tutorials is welcome! Same for constructive feedback.

Out of curiosity, what materials did you use?
As for the mood of Darnassus, perhaps you should walk around and take some screenshots at areas that depics what you're looking for and maybe you don't have to use that purple light. Instead I think that the pure scenery of Darnassus is enough actually, something significant from the city maybe?Β

I think you're right. If the background was maybe without colors and just the ground and a few plants here and there gave the elements, I could catch it simplified.
A CG Artist friend of mine suggested to use an overlay of water to do some matt painting for better texture.
I used a brush with textures. Before that I made some toying with greyscale values, multiplied layers and linear color layers.
