My OC/Fan-character for "Treasure Planet" fandom.

Okay, 5 1/2 years ago, I did the OC for the fandom: Tamara Stellar . But for now, since I was developing her this year, I decided to "rename" her, while I redesigned her. I renamed her Tabitha "Tabby" Balfour. Yeah, I was thinking of "Tibby," but "Tabby" sounds decent to me for this character. Also, her surname, "Balfour," was actually named after both RL Stevenson's middle name (the author of "Treasure Island"), and his main character's last name from his work, "Kidnapped."

Alright, on with the show... and this time, revising the background story:

Tabby Balfour is Jim Hawkin's younger cousin, who was the daughter of Anne (the younger sister of Sarah Hawkins). Her interest was engineering and mechanics, since her father was a Royal Navy's Engineer. She's a tomboy who loves to read adventure/ghost stories, while being desperate to ride a Solar Surfer and follow her father's quest. She also befriends with B.E.N. and Morph, whom both of them make her laugh.

Since she was a baby, she became very close to her cousin, Jim, because she had been fascinated with him and his skills. However, when she was seven, she lost touch with Jim (in age 15; a month before the Benbow Inn was crashed by pirates). To explain why, she did try to "fix" on Jim's Solar Surfer, which her cousin told her not to touch it while he's out, outside the Benbow. But she was caught by Jim in red-handed, which made the Solar Surfer crashed to the barrels. Even though the Solar Surfer wasn't too much damage, Jim blamed Tabby that she shouldn't touch it, and didn't feel like he wants to play with her anymore. For Tabby, she felt like she was rejected by him, whom she's had been looking up to. So, she walks back to the Benbow, with tears.

A year after that, Tabby's parents died in a terrible accident, when she was eight years old. So she move to live with her Grandmother, Hannah (Sarah's mother). Due to the lost of her daughter and son-in-law, Hannah send Tabby to a private school for girl to make it up for her granddaughter. However, Tabby had been bullied by many girls because they teased her and her "skills," while her teachers "patronized" her because of her personality and her background.

The relationship between her and Hannah was getting off. Tabby assured her that she had been teased in school, while Hannah gave her suggestions, such as "do better activities" instead of mechanics, which are not helpful. But as time went by, Hannah began to feel very ill, and then went to the hospital. She began to have a hermorrhagic stroke, which would affect her for not just leading to her death... but her childcare on Tabby.

Tabby, now 10-years-old, met the Hawkins family (Sarah, Jim, Morph, and B.E.N), with Doppler and Amelia (the Doppler babies are taken care by Mrs. Dunwoody), who all visit into Hannah's house to see her grandmother and to pick her up. Hannah told Tabby that she will move to Aunt Sarah's house as her new care because she will spend time in the hospital, since her illness. Even though Tabby was glad to see her aunt, she wasn't being aware with Jim (now 18, graduated from the Academy). To be honest, she thought Jim "hates" her because of the incident, which made B.E.N. and Morph worried.

The next night, there was a fight between Tabby and Jim. Tabby criticize him for giving her the blame since the incident, and feeling ignored while being bullied in school. Later on, Tabby tried to run away from home, but Jim found her outside at the mine, using his Solar Surfing as a ride. After Jim rescued Tabby from the accident, Jim apologizes her for what had happen three years ago. He mentions that he was being selfish and childish back he was 15, because he didn't want to admit it was his fault, due to his teen rebel faze. He also says to her that he thought she "despises" him, since he came to Hannah's house. Tears well in her eyes, Tabby hugs Jim, before she says to him "I love you."

Whew, that's a lot of writing that I can write about. I could tell more, but that's enough. I'll explain later if I'll make more pics soon (if there's a chance).

Just a fun fact in this pic; the background was inspired by N.C Wyeth's (illustrator of "Treasure Island") paintings as reference because of the color scheme.

Also, the pose was loosely based off from this concept art 40.media.tumblr.com/f518da1234… , work by the late Harald Siepermann (God Bless his soul).

Finally, for the inspirations, she's inspired by Melody from "Little Mermaid 2," Jane from "Return to Neverland," Peppermint Patty from "The Peanuts," others.... and the younger version of Jim hawkins. Tried to make her dress up as a boy from little boys of 18th-century, including Henri from "Liberty's Kids.: XD
