Description Rudolph, Happy the Baby New Year, and Nestor the Long-Eared Donkey together in this pic.

I've seen pic of Nestor and Happy since they both have in common of long-ears issue, while I saw one pic of Rudolph and Nestor as buddies. However, why not three of them together?

After "Rudolph," our Red-nosed reindeer hero really inspired the characters in a later Rankin/Bass films, Happy and Nestor, because of being outcasts with their own unusual appearances , while being outcast by their own peers. After all, these three really have a lot in common together.

In "Rudolph's Shiny New Year," Rudolph understood how Happy felt because of his big ears, so he showed his red nose to prove that he's not the only one who looks different. He even told a story to him how he was outcast by his kind because of his nose, and later use his gift to help Santa from the now storm. When he laughed with Happy's big ears, Rudolph realized that these ears make everyone who laugh really happy for joy. So that makes Happy, well... a very Happy New Year.

In "Nestor the Long-Eared Donkey," the Donkey from Santa's workshop did sang about Rudolph, but there is another misfit that was before him... which appeared to be his ancestor, Nestor. Nestor had been inspired by Rudolph a lot because of a misfit, who is funny looking, will become a hero at the end. As the story takes place in the Nativity timeline, Nestor had been bullied a lot by the other animals because of his long ears, which really made him cry. Later on, he met a cherub, Tilly, who told him that his ears can do wondrous thing that others' ears can't, according to Heaven. After he was bought by Mary and Joseph, who both saw him innocent because of his gentle eyes, Nestor used his ears to wrap around the Virgin, from the awful sandstorm. At the end, Mary thanked Nestor for helping her, before the Nativity scene shows the birth of Christ.

In "Nestor," I really like how they use Christian theme because it shows that no matter what different you look, your gift can do wondrous thing that others don't. Even mentioning that the angels can help the misfits from Heaven. After all, "Hunchback of Notre Dame" did use Christian theme back then.

Huh, not only that both Nestor and Happy were inspired by Rudolph, but were both referenced from Dumbo, from Walt Disney's titled movie, because of a huge ears issues.

Also, I wouldn't forget how Rudolph from Rankin/Bass films inspired later characters because of a misfit who can do wondrous thing. In fact, I could see Zero from TNBC was inspired by Rudolph because of glowing nose to help a Santa character.

Hope you guys had a very good New Year on a first day. Enjoy.

Yeah, that special was really sweet, with Christian theme to assure that people with strange appearances are unique.

that is the one that best kept the focus on what Christmas is really about, although it's mentioned in some of the others. I like that they often show that someone thought of as strange or different has value to.

Yep, and it's good to show how the angels (especially Cherubs) cares the misfits (even the long-eared donkey, like Nestor) who were bullied by their own crowd.

Tilly is such a  sweetheart cutie. After all, based on the friendship between her and Nestor, there's a song called "Don't Make me Cry" during this special.

Yeah, because we sympathized how much he cried with sadness, after he was bullied by other animals and lost his mother.
