Description Introducing of my OC for Walt Disney’s Pinocchio - Zoe the living doll. She is suppose to be a “love-interest” for Pinocc.

More sketches from my tumblr art: misschristineart.tumblr.com/po…

She’s a living doll like Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” but her type was supposed to be like a china doll (like the China Doll from Oz: the Great and Powerful) and a wooden articulated doll. In an early development, she likes to dance while being different from the other dolls who are “proper.” Her personality that I’m developng will be spunky and tough, but zealous because of act before thinking (like Joni’s action from Cluefinders).

Originally, she was going to be named “Eva,” since Pinocchio and the living doll will have an Adam+Eve vibe. But since there are other Eve characters in the media (E.V.E from “Wall-E” and Eva from “Igor” movie),  I chose “Zoe” instead. It’s also means “life” since the name “Eve,” while it’s both Greek and Italian.

To be honest, there was a coincidence that there’s an OC that is also a doll character. artema.deviantart.com/art/Wish… . So, I’m developing my Zoe for her doll type (articulated dolls and others from history), while decided that her desires that she wanted to be is a real human and travel the world.

Anyway, here are the character designs sketcthes (from sketchbooks and drawing pad), while the final pic is a concept drawing.

To draw her in Pinocchio’s world, I sticked with the style from retro Disney: between 1930′s to early 1950′s. I mean, you don’t just draw “Disney” style, you stick with the Golden style as a style frame for this character. After all, “Pinocchio” was released on 1940, few years after “Snow White.” So, during that, I avoided the styles like Disney Renassaince or Disney Revival.

In her designs, Zoe was referenced from the girls by Fred Moore (who was an animator of Lampwick) in Disney. You can see she has the vibes from Fred Moore’s girls: The Centaurettes, The girls from All Cats Join In, and the Caseyettes (now as inspiration to Zoe). Also referenced from some other Disney girls between late 1930’s to 1950’s: Katrina Van Tassel (also animated by Fred Moore, along with others) from Ichabod and Mr. Toad, Slue-Foot Sue from Melody Time, the Cookie Queen from The Cookie Carnival, Grace Martins from “Martins and Coys” in Make Mine Music, and Persephone from “Goddess of Spring.” Oh, and she was referenced from the concept art of Snow White from Walt Disney’s “Snow White.”

But in this pic, you can see that she was referenced from not only Goddess of Spring, but also referenced from Jane in 1920 film, Cabinet of Dr. Calighari. ^w^

You'll see her more. Enjoy. ^^

This is intriguing and you draw her as a very pretty doll.
Does she get to become a real girl?

Thanks (pardon the late reply).

Since I thought about her during the same time, then the answer is "yes." She will become a real girl if she passed the virtues.
