Description
In most cases, the cultural exchange can be seen as a long vacation. Event planners for groups visiting us can sometimes struggle for ideas though.
Our society and theirs are not too different, but there are some strange things here and there. However, the concept of bikinis and sitting in the sun for a long time is absolutely alien to Móranians. Curious tailors and clothes makers on Mórania received strange, revealing clothing designs from Earth as part of the exchange project.
It takes them some time to get used to the idea. All these little humans sat in direct sunlight for hours and hours, playing games in the shallow ocean water, wearing nearly nothing? Incredibly strange!
But as the day goes on, they become used to it, and find it is a very efficient way to relax. Mórania's geography does not feature many beaches, so the novelty of the environment leads to them relaxing more and more, until they finally see the appeal.
Part of the logistics involved include having fluids available for them, especially in the heat. The familiar cargo cans containing the rather popular mineral spring water are made known to them, and even if its a few miles away, it's not really that far in comparison for them.
Walking along the beach is not as easy for them as it is us. It's been found they don't love swimming out in the sea – not many of them ever learned swimming due to the water rationing back home. So, they have to walk amongst the sunbathing humans. Fortunately, their reactions are good enough and the sand is soft enough that any miss-steps just become amusing embarrassments as a tiny sunbather is covered in sand and gently pushed into the ground a little.
Despite all this, the gigantic visitors insist on having more beach days in their exchange program!
