Mechanical pencil. Did this one as a commission, then the commissioner decided she couldn't pay for it. So it's still mine to this day, though I'm not downright sure where it is. Taker was cropping the lower part of his head in those days, so his hair was short to a point above the ears and long on the crown. A biker style, apparently. He wore it in a braid or a tail a lot of the time. I preferred it down, personally.
I'd almost forgotten about this one, then I spotted it the other day as an avatar on a forum. Slightly spooky.

I really like seeing this softer, more contemplative style of pose and sketches. Seems like you either must've been very good at bringing out that element in the gesture, or just had the luck/tenacity to find those pictures with that ever so slight slip of kayfab!

You're probably right about that -- I used to have loads of magazines, screen shots and so forth just to mine through for good ones! Wish I could find all that in this house...
