It truly is a shame that they wasted a character with as much possibilities as Sheldon. He really did have the potential for so much more than any other character and yet the original writers squandered all of that on comedy that wasn’t even funny and treated this character like a complete doormat.

It’s kind of irritating how whenever people talk about the character, they always remain fixated on how he followed Jenny around in the past and was labeled a loser stalker geek.
It’s like people these days refuse to acknowledge any other aspects of his character despite having far more going for him. And people somehow delude themselves into thinking Jenny and Brad are potential lovers when their friendship is totally platonic and Brad was romantically interested in Melody and not Jenny.
And if one were to follow Sheldon’s character progression, to world see that he went from high school student to vigilante, to Space Pirate captain, and Secret Agent. Two of those happened in the same season (3). It’s pretty clear that Renzetti and company were setting Sheldon up for serious character development but never got the chance to make it happen because the show was canceled and they didn’t get to make a 4the season.

I just wish that people would actually realize all this as well. I’ve brought up most of the the exact same things you did about Sheldon and many people still ignore Sheldon’s positive traits. Did you hear about a fan made continuation for MLaaTR?

Yeah, the guy who is responsible for the creation of that little number is named Nathan. He says he intends to follow the original vision Rob Renzetti’s had for the series as close as physically possible. I won’t lie, I do feel concerned with the absurd amount of hate people and fans have towards Sheldon. One person said online that he would rather the show be canceled if it meant Jenny never got together with Sheldon.
I just hope that the people working on this project of theirs aren’t being influenced by these closed minded and somewhat delusional fans. And I do hope that when Nathan says he intends to make this continuation as close to Rob Renzetti’s original vision, intention, and plans, he is also referring to what Renzetti had planned to do with Sheldon and his character.
I’ve seen so many people get his character wrong and I just hope Nathan understands what Rob intended to do with the series.
