Description
Well, this one was difficult. I am a biologist, so "insectoid" is a word that makes diverse ideas appear in my mind. That said, there are 2 cliches i wanted to avoid entirely: the big bad ugly bug that eats you (and that's it), and the symbol of transformation that is the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly. The hive-mind and the parasitic bugs are also cliches to avoid. I could have done something about the dead carapaces left behind after moulting, but pokémon already did that.
So i made an oracle. This insect chimera delivers different prophecies according to the head in the middle, the one that speaks to mortals. The beetle tells prophecies of war; the bee speaks of harvests and good omens; the mantis says fortunes about the acts of rulers and governors; the mosquito foretells plague, illness and death; the locust speaks of travels and heroic odisseys; the roach gives prophecies of natural disasters and the butterfly speaks in odd riddles, giving prophecies about misteryous events.
Those little things at the bottom are people. And no, i don't know how they manaage to understand what the insect oracle is saying.
Only after taking the picture did i realize that i had used a page that had already something drawn on the other side, and it showed through. I am not skilled at photo edition and i was not going to draw the damn thing again, so i clumsily erased the worst parts of the pic and called it a day.
