I just can't help "humanizing" this. Maybe the barn (in my head only I'm sure) is looking back at a useful life. There was a time when its sides were smooth and freshly cut. It had pretty white signage that everyone could see. Its new roof glittered in the sun. Now its sides are falling in, broken down and sagging. No one can quite make out the words anymore. And, on the left side, the roof line is receding showing the structure beneath. Just my opinion, but I'm afraid this old one is not long for the world. Perhaps it will move on to a better place. A place where it won't run down, it will never get tired or grow old

Sorry! I just couldn't help myself This is a very good picture! There are many old buildings, of course, but this picture has enough elements in to make it interesting (to me at least ) Most decaying buildings don't really have much to look at, but this has fading words and a roof pulling back off its framing, a bending loft beam, and through it all it looks like two unbroken windows. And the dark inside makes me want to poke around and explore.

The only "negative" critique I would have (and it's really just personal preference) is the range of tones. Most of the picture has a very flat tonal range, and I like higher contrast. But ...

... good job!!

yes but the softness of the image helps emphasize the fragility and impermanence too .. (all that aside I took this image with my Kodak(soft 8mp sensor ) in a moving vehicle doing 65 mph (143 kph) .. and then cropped it 50%) .. I may try a reedit with google picasa later and resubmit the results for comparison

Wow! In light of your info about 65 MPH photography, I'm even more impressed.
