Every time I look at this, I just... Cry. I won't deny it. This grabs my feels and just squeezes them until I have tears streaming down my cheeks.
This is a beautiful, if heart wrenching and sad, concept. And I love it.

Looks like Scootaloo has another surrogate sister, and she is a kindred spirit with this one in a very uncommon way: ...neither of them can fly.
Anyway, non-sequiturs aside, this is a very powerful picture. The contrast between the gravestones of Applejack's parents with the simple rock with "Mom" and "Dad" carved into it, really hits you hard. How did Scootaloo's parents die? Why were they not interred with the same level of respect and decorum as Applejack's? Did they die in a dark forest, where nopony would find the remains and know they had even shuffled off this mortal coil? Was it an accident so horrible that nothing was left to bury, leaving Scootaloo to mark something in their memory? So many questions with answers that are only speculation, but this is a wonderfully stirring comic, and nothing can take that away.
