Name: Botao Mohang

Gang: Jinhai

Bending Technique: Waterbender- Ice-Shards: at level zero can only create and launch very small ice needles which shatter on contact, they’re only a danger if they, say, get in your eyes or something. Has two small pouches on both hips. Also that staff is hollow and is usually filled with water.

Personality: As he grew up in a large family with high expectations, he’s been trained to cover up any ‘rude’ or ‘disruptive’ aspects of his nature with silence. When he gets excited or emotional about things (often) he feels he must do everything in his power to hide it, and regularly fidgets or hums instead of actually expressing himself. Despite this he is usually in good cheer and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he knows beyond first-name basis, something he’d be rather uncomfortable admitting. Because of his upbringing he takes any chance he can get to become noticed without actually having to use his words- he’s more of a leap-before-you-look kind of guy with a thirst for attention. It takes him a lot of energy to concentrate on even the most menial of tasks, but that doesn’t mean he’s not willing to exert himself and buckle down now and then.

Past: Grew up in a large and proper family with four elder brothers and two younger sisters, Botao was never the center of attention. He attended classes and learned from his skilled elder brothers and uncle and, at the age of 16, left to forge his own path outside of his quiet home village.

Present: Spent a lot of his youth city hopping, trying to fit into many different titles that never really stuck. He found that he was only really comfortable living dangerously within the comfort of a group. Spent majority of his time in Jingdou stealing from nobles for ‘practice’ and breaking into stores at night for ‘fun’. It wasn’t long before he got himself into serious trouble with JEG officials and, while making his escape, noticed the Jinghai complex. To Botao a giant windowed building is as good as any other and the most sensible thing to do seemed to be leap into it. After successfully shirking the JEG he was almost immediately confronted by the Jinhai, and upon his offer to 'fix the window somehow or something... maybe... guys?' being declined, managed to kick, bend and hop his way almost to the exit. You know, before being slammed into unconsciousness. Despite breaking-in his 'impressive' show of evasion lead to an eventual affiliation with the Jinhai.
He still had to fix the window.

Future: While Botao’s not really a ‘plan ahead’ type, he is aiming to master his bending and finally stand out in the crowd.

Other Notes:

-Finds it very difficult to casually phrase things, finds himself writing down and planning conversations beforehand frequently. It isn’t uncommon to find phrases scribbled under his gloves.

-Is very confused about his political beliefs without someone to make decisions for him, prefers to just stay neutral in debates and watch.

-Often overestimates his skill. He understands fighting in a very linear fashion but when he tries to execute his plans he’ll usually become distracted and ‘wing’ it.

-being the youngest brother he found himself bonding much more with his little sisters. Because of this he can cook, sew, and do make up/nail polish. He doesn’t exactly flaunt these skills.
