It has a rather surreal quality about it. Thought provoking. I can imagine it on the cover of a Psychology book. It's a really nice shot actually.
I think it would benefit from cropping out the post on the right to centre it up a little. Just my take, hope you don't mind me saying that.

No problem with the suggestion and I'm really honoured by your kind words.
The truth is that the shot was shaped as a square by means of cropping of the original shot. The original shot was in fact perfectly centered, but whilst editing it to enhance contrast and colours I concluded that all the punctuality in positioning made it rather dull. So I decided to move the "dead end" a bit to the left by means of cropping, as I mentioned earlier.
More over the small red buoy could have easily been "erased" in ps, but instead I left it as it was to distort the perfect symmetry look even more.

I'm glad you left the small red buoy in, it highlights the fact that the scene is perfectly real and yet I still think of Rene Magritte when I look at it.

As another has mentioned, my eyes initially want this to be symmetrical, but I believe you that it may have looked too 'usual' as such. The contrast in colors are great, though. Such a blue sky...

Actually the original shot had a perfect symmetry, but as I saw it, the overall feeling of symmetry made the shot rather dull. So I decided to break the symmetry effect and just maintain the perspective to give it an edge.
