My Adoette <3

She follows, like a lamb, silent and vulnerable. Driven by the pure desire to snuff out her hunger; her painful, gnawing hunger. Adoette slips silently, patiently in the wake of a predator much more suited for the kill than she. She is like the jackal, the coyote, the vulture, and he is the lion. They come across a small, delicate female; Adoette waits patiently, carelessly a fair distance away as this male stakes his claim perhaps a little too eagerly. The alabaster monster shivers, convulses as the scent of blood takes precedence over the rotting forest floor. She watches with eager eyes as the dark predator she had chosen to follow stares at the freshly dead mare at his hooves and wonders, silently, why he does not gorge on his kill. But such simple thoughts are only brought on by instinctual hunger, and ignorant weakness.

Adoette waits until her host is well away, self preservation taking control over her hunger (if only for a moment), before she moves in on the downed mare. She smiles and eerie, sickening smile, revealing teeth that should not belong to a creature as beautiful as she. Adoette can still feel the nightmares of the carrion at her cloven hooves. The pale vulture’s forked tongue drops from her mouth and saliva drips across the dead mare’s cheek.

It is unlike Adoette to inglut a meal so fresh, usually preferring to dine with the maggots and rot that come after something has been dead for a while. Her teeth, however, find their place along the throat of the nameless mare; so begins the frenzy. She rips and tears large chunks, tossing her head into the air so that she might swallow large pieces whole. She closes her large, red eyes, content and bloated with meat. She licks her pink, slimy lips, lapping up the mess she had made.

After taking her fill, she leaves, following the same path her host had taken. She is never one to abandon good opportunity.
