Hey all,My 5 year old is a huge fan of Cable and pretty much anything that has to do with Marvel, DC, Hasbro, or Capcom.
(hehehe, raising him well)
At any rate, he wanted me to do up a Cable so he could color, which btw, he is actually coloring in Photoshop now. I taught him that too... Layers, tools, almost everything.
I did a ton of Cable art in the past and it was always comic booky action. I wanted something different. I gave him a more every day type of feel with a slight anime flare.
Hope ya'll like it. Feel free to color. Credit line work please and contact me so I can see it when finished.

Sounds like Im not the only one raising the next generation of comic geeks. My 4 yr old is nuts about Marvel and DC characters. Its funny when I go to his school to pick him up and his friends happen to see Spidey on my shirt, but dont recognize any of the other characters... my son will go up and point to each one and say who it is. Then he schools them on what they think they know about the few characters they do know (i.e. Black Spidey isnt bad, Venom is bad, Venom is Carnage's Dad, etc). Hes hilarious.
I havent had the patients to sit down and teach him photoshop, but then again, I just finished teaching his mother the basic tools. The wife took a photoshop class online, passed with a 98%, but still didnt seem to retain much. But my son is picking up the traditional tools much better than I ever did anywhere near his age. Maybe in a year or so Ill start him on the road to digital art.

Right now, Im trying to get my son to grasp the concept of the dual identity. He's been watching the X-Men Evolution cartoons and knows Cyclops as Scott, and my wife and I are trying to get him to understand that he IS Scott just like he IS Cyclops, but Scott is his REAL name and Cyclops is his Superhero name. We've been on this for a week now and it's still not sinking in. Maybe hes not quite there, or maybe he just doesnt care, lol, either way he still schools the kids in his school when it comes to comic characters, so Im happy

Hey man, that is kickin'. I kind of agree with about the shadows and lighting. Also, if you didn't create to BG and you like it, the best thing to do to keep it original is to maybe trace some of the objects in the jpeg image on a new layer and recolor it yourself. This will make the whole picture come together as if it is one and not a composite.

hehehe, for the amount of detail that goes into a regular comic style cable... this is nothing. The arm took more time than Cable himself, LOL.
