Beautiful piece of art. You can't see their faces but you can really feel all the emotion. The lighting is perfect and the dead griffin looks so peaceful and sad. Well done.

I recently started playing the Dragon Age series and just yesterday found out about the Griffons! For a moment I wished the games could've been set back when the Wardens were in all their glory, riding griffon-back... but then I realized maybe they would be ridiculously OP'ed and the game would be too easy. Haha.
This is really beautiful, I love the lighting... and I love the fact you decided to illustrate a page from the codex. What a vast source of inspiration, I've got to explore it more.

I've always wished that the griffons would make some sort of comeback, like how they thought all the dragons were hunted to death but weren't. But I doubt that. Amazing and emotional piece indeed!

This is sad, I remember that I was sad when I played DAO and heard the Griffons had died out.
But that did not compare to the grief and tragedy I felt when I found out what made them die out in the Dragon Age book "Last Flight"(Spoiler Alert) oh damn that was so sad, I lost all respect I had for the First Warden then, That is tyrannic post and should not be given to a single person alone

Oh, I don't read this, but heard of it! It's really sad, but there was certainly an important reason to do it, no?

It was for an honorable goal at first, but then they used it for something horrible,(Spoiler Alert) turning a loyal creature into a war machine through a ritual that they do not know fully what kind of bi-effects it might have, and it ended with the Griffons becoming mad with anger, killing each other or just as in this case, starving due to their unending rage.
I do respect the Grey Wardens, but sometimes they go to far in their way to stop blights, and they do it without thinking it through(the First Warden in Last Flight and Clarel are fine examples of that).
They are too concerned with one thing that they are blind to see what happens around them

This is an incredible peace! I was so moved and touched by it. The emotion of the moment is devastating and so real.
Also the art is superbly done. The perspective is great and interesting. The lighting is unobtrusive and stylish and the anatomy is real and mesmerizing. Great art!
