I remember this part of the movie, where he's arrested...also thinking about the cure he'll have after, i feel sad for him everytime i watch the movie...yeah, he's cruel, but he's a victim, tooΒ

Actually, Heath Ledger said he based his portrayal of the Joker from Alex DeLarge.

Thanks, but you'll get there - it's just a matter of drawing faces over and over and over and over...

I know why you thought of the Joker, haha.
Heath Ledger actually used Malcom Doyle's portrayal of Alex as an inspiration for how he was going to act out the Joker.

AHHHH OMIGOD THIS IS BEAUTIFUL
You got all of his features down very well... I LOVE how you got his smile! Eyes are awesome too. Only flaw I can find is that his head is a little tall, but that's a very minor issue as everything else is pulled off pretty much perfectly. Oh, BTW, have you ever used a smudge-pencil to blend tones and make them look solid? Just wondering. Using one might benefit your portraits a lot.

Why have people told you never to smudge? I don't see anything wrong with it. :\

Yeah I think some people can do it really well, like in your drawings for example. But I think my teachers thought using lines to create value would add direction to the different planes on a subject as opposed to giving it a completely smooth surface, if that makes sense.
