logo for [link] (a lanparty-community).......actually i went for a simple abstarct object to test shaders on in the beginning, but got carried away

I will convince myself to try again with 3D... sometimes... in the future...
I noticed that the lower black part of the object is too "dense" and does not give a surface sensation... I suppose it is in a "dark angle"...

the lower part is pretty "flat" because i used very strong reflections here to define the shape in the rendering.... i chose the reflected environment so i would have very distinct bright areas to give it all some more contrast, which leaves some areas with hardly any noticable reflections.

what program did you make it in, and if in 3ds max how did you make the shaders

as said before ( i feel like a broken record sometimes), its 3ds max, rendered with FinalRender Stage-1, so the shaders are FR-specific

This is very cool - looks like a red version / evil version of one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles! Awesome. This should be made into one of those stress squeezing things, i'd definiately buy one. The lighting is fantastic!

the big one on the main page has a different setup, yes.
the sharper highlight on top made for a better contrast on the red background than the setup used here.
