Description
The White December:Assignment 02

Having seriously glared at the photographer, snarled defiance at the cold and generally muttered incoherent remarks about just who was going to pay for this little idea, Mae somehow still managed to get ready for the photoshoot. If this was 'due to' or 'in spite of' certain...suggestions, it might never be known. The promise of hot choclate might have been involed. When she'd packed, she'd thought more "week in the wilderness" than "home for teatime" Her hot thermos was filled with warm nourishing soup (still tasted like paper after a day mind you) not chocolate. Her snacks were some teryaki flavoured jerky (and some horse treats for Rocky that could, if you were hungry enough, be nibbled on) and a selection of freezedried meals. She figured they were light enough to carry and with a foldup small couldron cup thingy, all you needed was fire and some water....and if there was one thing you weren't lacking on this trip, it'd be water. You were, literally, tripping over it each step of the way.

Of course, not everyone was intimidated by the small woman currently looking like the second cousin of a thundercloud (at least she wasn't likely to snow on them...) - mostly those who already knew her and had long figured out that if she was likely to want to hurt you, she'd be unlikely to grumble and grouch about it beforehand and were quite happy to drag her around, meeting new people, events and, yes...in this case, even cameras.

Others were simply not easily intimitated by nature...and were still deciding just which side of this strange person they should be taking seriously.

Some just thought she was being a silly little woman...

Snow and frozen mist down below...it's going to be a night involving a lot of shivering I suspect...or course, she could always stay warm by burning off some of the excess anger at having been made to participate in a "photoshoot". Knowing she was probably 'dragged kicking and screaming (not literally)' into this little endevour, anyone think their character would be stubborn, foolhardy or plain suicidal in making such an attempt? I'd love to do a collab if anyone's interested

-------------------------------
My snow is coming more and more alive every time I paint it...yay  I really like how Rocky came out at well. I had some serious doubts after my first 30 minutes of colouring him...but he came out beautifully I think Must be one of the best paintings I've done with him...he's a tricky one to colour.  Wish I could same the same thing for Mae's face *shudders* Originally the hood was supposed to face the 'other' way around...meh. First time I've drawn a decent looking rope bridle as well, so progress is being made...it's also taking a whole lot less time for me to draw these...something like this used to take several weeks before

So majestic... so stunning... but then all I'm seeing is this: maeix2.deviantart.com/art/All-… Beautiful really.

Rocky does look fabulous, from nose to tail, but that background... I can get lost in there - it's lovely! Mae also looks very regal... you know... until...

I know, I can't stop seeing it either   There goes all her 'badass' credibility

Mmmm, best snowy mountains I've ever done. Hope I can do something as gorgeous and white again.

Like a cat that leaps from great heights and speeds down a hallway - such grace, such beauty - and then slides into a wall - such amusement!
Still wouldn't cross her though.

You seem to be getting plenty of practice on snowy backgrounds so I'd say you'll be up to the challenge again!

Yup, on both accounts

It's way WAY better than drawing grass, that's for sure

Still bringing me smiles...

I can imagine, though both grass and snow still vex me. I've occasionally scratched at a doodle of Dante running through the snow and argh! I must borrow your skills one day. Keep up the great work!

Hee-hee she brought her katana!     The picture looks great!  I love the snowy landscape and the heroic pose with Mae and her horse.

Oh, absolutely...no way she was going on that journey and not bring something familiar with her...and there was no way she'd get that scythe through customs anywhere  Though, whoever thought up this little idea might need some pacifying cookies if she finds out who they are

Thankies *grins* If she absolutely had to do this, she was definitely going for the heroic 'image'...I do wonder what bloopers the camera might have captured before they got this shot though

I think this new way of spending more time and effort on 'some' paintings and letting others be quicker for learning purposes is beginning to pay off. I too really liked how this came out...though it had a few moments when I was wondering it it was all going to blow up on me
