Description It seemed like it was always raining these days. The world had turned away from the life of summer and was rapidly plunging into the depths of winter. Soon valleys and mountains, lakes, rives, fields and roads would be getting covered in snow, if they weren't already. In the meantime, it rained.

Rubbing a hand over his eyes, Sam tried to get rid of some of it. He suceeded only in smearing more of the mud over his face. Since the last two jumps he'd been riding with only one eye. His left eye was skewered shut, to painful to open. The swelling was already turning purple.

Below him, the arabian mare was plodding through the increasingly muddy track leading up to the next jump. Her normally golden chestnut coat was so stained with mud that she could easily have passed for any brown horse you cared to name.

Thesan in her second cross country competition, this time at Yellow Field Stables

I felt adventerous, so I decided to try my hand at something I've always wanted to do. Normally I'm always very exact with my details (or at least, I try) and I've always admired artist that could convey the same thing but with just the odd brushstroke here and there.
While it still looks a bit odd to me, for something new, I'm quite pleased

*chuckles* Actually, a large part of my early gallery are oil-paints. I only started doing digital images a few years back, and have been trying to get tham as oil painting looking as possible
I love painting in oil and I do miss it - but I simply don't have enough time anymore.
