Cries of fear and anger filled the chamber.
While the king sat leisurely,
The people demanded answers.

" Here here my good townspeople,
The assassin as already been apprehended. "

And a curtain went up.

There he was,
The harbinger of death to many people.
The same archer employed by the king,
' Tied up ' and now being paraded to the public.

" Merely a scapegoat he is,
And as a reward for his wonderful work,
He was able to keep a single knife.
More than enough for him to escape and never come back. "

Now it was just the king and his alchemist;
The same one who concocted the death in a bottle.
The archer was long gone now,
Outside city limits.
Before leaving though,
He delivered a few gifts to the king.

An insignia from the guild master,
A stein from the most revered pub owner,
And a necklace from the queen.
