this week, i met with my art teacher to show her my drawings and paintings. she really liked my stuff and understood the style i'm going for and all that, but she suggested that i try to do things with more depth and with different perspectives. considering 99% of what i draw is flat and straight-on, i think that she might be onto something.

i started with a plain black and white painting so as to not overwhelm myself with depth and details and lighting AND color theory.

i'm actually super super excited about this painting -- i've NEVER been able to paint a landscape image this well. and could i do better? yes! absolutely! but for now, i'm ecstatic that i was able to do this much.
