I think the edggy thing looks really cool, if it was on purpose. It looks like a fantasy setting. It almost looks like a dragons back, unless your not stoned.

my only critique here is the edgy look of that one hang on that mountain. doesn't look very inviting to the eye. the rest is pro work... very solid work and pleasant to look at.

I've never used terragen, so I'm not aware of its capabilities and limitations. My "critisism" is made under the assumption that you were trying to create a real place (and that the water is a LARGE body of water...an ocean or such).
Unless the shore is rather steep, the water should probably be a bit more transparent at it's most "inland" points. Also, the sand could use a little bit more of a grainier texture. And I've never seen a beach that didn't have some stuff that had washed ashore.
One suggestion..... if you make another similar coastal landscape with mountains right on the water like this, you might want to add in a cave or two....
I really like the descending ridges along the front most mountain. And the birds are a nice added effect. There are always birds on the coast....at least in my experience..... The distant clouds are nice as well.
And if the lighting and feel of this image isn't perfect, it is very close.
