Description
Diamond Tiara has never been known as a character that had to be written with much attention to development or complexity. A crude comment here, a bad pun there, a cartoonishly vapid understanding of reality to warrant the emergence of a moral at the end of the episode. That was all you really needed. But if you're going to make a series about Diamond Tiara's emotional growth, that growth requires something a little deeper. Everyone has their limits. Sometimes we discover parts of ourselves we just need to throw away.Previous:

At first I was like this is just gonna lead to major trouble, Twilight, what you doing?

It helps the setup that Twilight suddenly appeared. And even though it was unintentional the mentioning of "garbage day" immediately got me thinking of that one meme quote from that movie.
I do find it amusing that Randolph is looking up in his vacation panels, because it looks like he's breaking the fourth wall by reacting to her saying he's fired.

I was hoping to throw in a few unsettling and eyebrow-raising aspects in this one to keep people guessing. But no one could have predicted the biggest subversion of all: Diamond's character development! D:

I think it's more along the lines of "WHY IS EVERYONE TRYING TO TAKE MY CAT AWAY" than any imp tricks Twilight thought of. Guess Twilight should've worded it more carefully.

I think youβre right. And thatβs where the real devilish aspect of the impβs schemes have come into play: Illyβs the only one thatβs actually tried to take Dazzle. But Diamondβs had to put up with the fanboy Goomba, Fluttershy, Silver Spoon, and now Twilight trying to take him away.
The first was part of Illyβs plan, and the other three were all imagined. Illyβs planted the seed of paranoia in her mind. She canβt trust anyone with Dazzle now that sheβs accepted she needs him.
Diamond is defined by her many delusions, and seeing how they compete with one another is what creates intrigue.
