Description There's animals who are cute and fluffy, and others who are majestic and elegant. They impress with sheer strength or astounding grace. They earn nicknames such as "king of beasts" or "flying jewel." They are incredibly smart, fast, or colourful.

... yeah, and then there's the other ones. These are the strangest animals I can think of, if you know any stranger ones, tell me about them!

Left to right: Limulus - if I recall correctly, the last surviving member of the xiphosura, sometimes known as horseshoe crabs, although they aren't actually crabs. Phoxichilidium - belongs to the pantopoda; if they have an English name, I don't know it. Phrynus - belongs to the amblypygi, sometimes known as whip spiders or tailless whip scorpions, although they are neither spiders, nor scorpions, nor whip scorpions. All of them are completely harmless to humans.

Entry for 's challenge.

Very unique   I especially like the use of negative space on the whip spiders, and the way the limbs imply the shape.
