This was taken a few days ago about half a mile away from my home. I've been wanting to shoot there for a long time, so I finally mustered the courage to check it out.Related content

House has been crumbling for at least 20 years. Since that was taken ~2013 I keep wanting to go back whenever I'm back on the property but don't since holidays are well...the holidays. Indiana winter isn't exactly kind when it comes to wanting to be out long anyhow.

Trust me I went all over that property. The house itself was caving in so it was unsafe to even walk on the damn porch.

I take the photo-journalistic approach to photography. If you don't have the balls to stand on that ledge to challenge your "fear" then you aren't doing your job. I can't swim, but when I'm shooting the cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin in DC I'll crouch about a foot if not closer to the ledge of the water if that's what it takes. Another time...this is my favorite I climbed the wall over a parking garage just to get a good areal shot from across the mall.

For my line of work it's an occupational hazard. Moreover, falling was the first lesson I ever got in therapy. So the fear of knowing how to catch myself when I already balance on one leg like a cat just kinda adds to the bunch. ;~P

Yeah. That was up a bit from my parents home in Evansville IN. The house is abandoned and literealy about to collapse in on itself. I tell ya bub that house is creepier than sin. The whole time I was there I felt like I was walking into someplace in Silent Hill and a mannequin would make an appearance.

I returned to "Silent Hill" today. I used a longer lens, so I got tighter shots into the basement.
