Reputation
Darla was designed when the studio noticed that the cartoons were slowly losing attention. In hopes that the cartoons will rise in fame again, Darla was created. Her design was inspired by the girlfriends of other cartoon stars like Minnie Mouse. And when a perfect design was made, she was ready to be introduced to the audience. Darla made her debut in a cartoon titled “Demoness-in-Distress.” In that cartoon, she was an imp that had been kicked out of her home and was chased down by a group of male demons, henchmen of Papa Pluto. At one point in the cartoon, she and Bendy meet for the very first time. When this cartoon was released to the public, everyone knew that she was made to be Bendy’s girlfriend. In the cartoons, she was often portrayed as the damsel in distress. She gets bullied by the Butcher Gang or gets tormented by Papa Pluto’s henchmen again, but in the end, she is saved by Bendy. As more cartoons that featured her were made, she was soon regarded as one of the most cutest characters to ever be made by Joey Drew Studios, inside and out. A perfect match for the Little Dancing Devil. To this day, she is still seen as a cutie and her cuteness increases even more when she is with her one and only Devil Darling. Additionally, she is still Bendy’s girlfriend even when she is not onscreen, entertaining the audience. She, like Bendy, has the tendency to be cat-like, but she is more like the friendly, affectionate, and shy type.

Personality
Darla is known for being very shy and timid around strangers, no matter who or what they are. She will often hide whenever she sees a new face and will not come out even when told that the person means no harm. But when she is around people she trusts greatly, she would smile bigger and talk more, but she is not chatty. She prefers to be quiet and let people mind their own business while she minds hers. Darla is also very kind-hearted and sweet, as she is often seen giving small desserts to those she considers a friend or just being there by their side to listen to someone vent their frustrations. Furthermore, Darla is sensitive. Say one hurtful thing or do something hurtful to her, her pie-cut eyes will well up with tears immediately. In short, Darla was created to be a sweetheart, an adorable and innocent imp that only wants a friend.
