I learned a lot with this picture. The whole image was too large (more than 6gig) to render on my GPU, so I had to break the scene into layers and composite.
Then I had to learn about the Shadow Catcher feature in Blender in order to get Brin to have a shadow on the boards.
I also had to figure out how to use the Compositing Nodes and the DoF effect at the same time.
Lastly I used Adaptive Micropolygon Displacement for the stone wall to get the depth.

This was a lot of fun and a lot of learning!
