I usually like female portraiture better and prefer when models do eye contact. however, I find this portrait both aesthetically and technically great! I like the composition with the use of the hat as an anchor in the upper left; also how the foreground is filled with the black of his suit. one can not see the eyes but I imagine them deep and black. the nicely defocused background is excellent--good use of DOF. nice light, exposure, grain and impact. lots of mood here
although I wish you'd have given us more pixels, I and yay to medium format photog'
quick questions: ISO? aperture/speed? all natural lighting?

What a superb portrait (on the Holga I presume?)
I love the composition and the mood.

Oh my goodness.

I must say that I really, truely, love this photograph. Those lips and the fog/smoke/cloud is such a great addition to a portrait. The contrast of black and white adds so much class.

I am going to favorite this.

i really like how the background is blurred on this one, it makes you focus more on the model. and the model, the hat is great! adds a sense of mystery..and the smoke looks very cool coming out.

i really like it. black and white is effectively used in this shot, complimented by the spacing on the right and not being able to see much of his face, giving it a wonderful mood.

my only qualms are the jagged lines along his left arm, they disrut the flow of the picture. but other than that, great work
