I don't usually upload prototype pics into my DA but I want your opinion on these guys."PINK" I hear you scream. Well, yes. They are just prototypes and I was using up minky fabric I have a feeling is not going to be used fast.
The mint guy is pattern rough #1 and pinkie is pattern and wing rough #2. His neck is too long and makes him look like napoleon dynamite >_>
Minty is stuffed with polypellets only and Pinky is stuffed with… doll stuffing stuff… Minty’s butt is saggy as a result but he feels nicer. Pinky has more form but… Looks too stiff I guess?
Minty’s wings are just minky with one sheet of interfacing
Pinky’s wings have two sheets of interfacing and wire which make them stiffer, not necessarily posable, but held up well enough. I think three sheets of interfacing (or heavier interfacing!) would be much better than wire. Note to self: elongate ends of wings for easier sewing…
Casting took ages but I’m working on that. When I get it right it’ll take at most 15 min.
As an average for the rest…
Pattern cutting: 30 mins
Sewing: 1 hr 30 mins (so many arms!)
Painting: 30 min airbrush prep and sculpt tidying (filling in holes in the cast and stuff), 45 min painting and varnishing. 30 mins for Pinkies wing details.
Finishing: 30 min, glueing, stuffing et al.
Total: 4hrs 30mins ish. That’s pretty quick for me. x_x Gotta get faster tho I think...
What do you think of them? Dreadful colour schemes aside

I love the look of Minty, it's the eyes. Big blue eyes. 
Personally I like the pellets and stuffing combined in dolls. I have a favorite bear who's feet and butt are pellets, rest of him stuffing. It'd help the sagging of Minty's butt I think xD
Color scheme isn't so bad on Minty anyway

My plan with the stuffing is to have various types of beans in the limbs and tail and then some beans but mostly stuffing in the tumbly. To help form but encourage cuddlability. It's surprisingly complicated, like some sort of Squooshiness Science.

It sounds complicated. That's why I admire your work so much <3 I don't have the problem solving skills to get that far, I have to follow patterns step by step. Keep it up, I hope to see more of these adorable moths!

Having had some first hand experience with creating my own plushes (just rag dolls, but it was a lot of work and a lot of fun) I can look at these two and think.. AWESOME! I love the color schemes!! If this is what you come up with there is no way your color choices dreadful! Reading the types of stuffing, I like the idea of the Mint one better, sagging or not, makes for a very cute toy, and I think adds life. Your Pink dude definitely does NOT look too stiff, he's got a great shape and a great look. I just like pellets idea better.
The fact that you have just made moth plushies makes you, a genius. They are adorable. I really want to hug one!

I think combining polyfill, plumtum and steel shot is probably a way to go. Steel shot adds weight nearest the hands, plumtum adds not so much weight and flexibility to the rest, then polyfill gives form to the butt so it doesn't sag. That's my game plan - when they all get here!

Ah I'd have to resculpt and make a new silicone mould of them if I were to do that so I'm afraid it's not going to happen. Unless my current mould explodes or something.

Haha well, it wasn't an instruction, just a suggestion since you were askin for critque. They look more like beaks to me the way they are now, is all, but the overall plush is still freakin' adorable and it wouldn't stop me from buying one!

I personally love the mint one. He's absolutely adorable, and I kind of am in love with how squat he is. The neck on the pink one I think is the main problem, it's creepy.

ohgod they're so cute I'm dying
their hands and feet, I find, are possibly my favorite part. There's something about the pink one's face that just doesn't quite sit right. Like his...mouth thingy needed to be a little higher or--I'm really not sure. But even with his silly color scheme, Minty is just darling. Even the plainness of his wings is somehow endearing, his slightly goofy bow charming. Like he's a clumsy baby and messed it up.
Right. I want him. Hold still. I'm climbing into you via interwebs to steal him. Even the bottoms of his feet are cute. I want to curl up in a ball with him and kiss him good night, Mag. I'm uncomfortably attached to him.

They're resin casts of the same sculpt so hands, feet, heads are all identical. Pinky's pattern is just different, so the neck makes his head tilt upwards making him look like a freak for some reason. And he's stiff, too much padding. Beans are better, so he goes all sort of squashy.

All this technical stuff that I never think of for these sorts of things--it makes so much sense though. They're so much more complicated than they seem. They're really adorable though.
You're just lucky I can't pop by your house and spirit him away in the night to go off on a magical adventure.
Once I have my own bloody, steady income I'm commissioning you and that's final. Though that might take a while...EVENTUALLY!
Hahah you'd have a field day in my studio if you knew where it was >) My display case is stuffed at the moment cus I got a show coming up in February.
Come to think of it they'd probably have way more fun going on a magical midnight adventure than sitting in a boring display case :(

I think they're extremely cute.
I prefer the mint one.
The stuffing makes it sound like it would feel nicer to hold/cuddle. Besides it's shape overall looks better
i don't like pink much personally but i DO like the orange pink combo

I think they are both really cute. I like their little tooth in the middle of their mouths. I actually like the orange/pink combo, because its not often used together. I like the green/blue too, but thats a more common combo.

It's a sort of curled up proboscis rather than a tooth but the photo doesnt really show that.

I'm thinking heavier interfacing so there's no risk of accidental stabbing. They need to be repositioned on the pattern too so they stand up.

Moths are fully capable of being pink!
Rosy Maple moths and Elephant Hawk moths are both very colorful and have pink, so don't worry about your "dreadful colour schemes"- they're actually not far from accurate.
Aside from this, I love these plushies and I prefer the minty one to the pink one in terms of form on all aspects.
