Sorry I don't mean to be rude because I see you spent a lot of time... The drawing: awesome, amazing, nicely executed! The color image however, looks plastic and fake; the reason why is because on Photshop I think you're using the color in a more pure fashion, when you paint it's easier to "dirty up" the colors and make the painting look more naturalistic or real, here you put the shadows and highlights in the proper places, but that alone doesn't sell the image, the way you use color is the most important. Also I think you took a little bit of liberty with the color image, which in turn modify's the facial structure which in turn distorts him from the original drawing. Take a look at the painting I had a student do for my principles of design class:

in yours, your cheeks are to droopy, the forehead is too pronounced, the hair is feather like, similar to a young head of hair that is cleansed with silky smooth conditioner etc, when it should really look like gray hair that belongs to an old man... the link i posted the student was restricted to using particular colors, but he was able to still capture the concept of the drawing, hence maybe going forward create another one and limit your palette... because as good as what you made it (Very good if I haven't mentioned!!!), it appears you had to many choices so your color image looks like you kind of went all over the place. anyhoo -pretty impressed, look forward to seeing your art in the history books someday!

What a brilliant transition from the line Art to your finished piece! The coloured portrait is really luminescent, you have breathed life into the original drawing. I have been given the excellent Huge scale book by Frank Zolner "Leonardo Da Vinci~ The Complete Paintings and Drawings" published by Taschen, it's a great inspiration. Thanks again for sharing your wonderfull portrait. Cheers!
